Oh, damnit... Leslie Nielsen died, at the age of 84. :( Apparently, complications from pneumonia got him while he was staying at a hospital (a big building with patients, but that's not important right now).

Time to break out all those classic movies again for a Leslie Nielsen retrospective so we can enjoy his performances once more, I imagine. I don't usually care about actors' deaths (or any artists' deaths, to be honest), but Leslie Nielsen... damn, he was good, and the world's poorer without him around. (I'm serious about that — and don't call me Shirley. )

So for now, have a short retrospective, at least — and after that, as Frank Drebin said:

Move along, nothing to see here!

Yeah, he did. It's a shame, isn't it? :(

(Oh, and hi there, BTW! We don't know each other yet, do we?)

Heh. :)

The reason why I was asking, actually, was mostly that I tend to not add people back these days by default. It's for a reason, of course, but still, I sometimes feel that this amounts to missed opportunities, so...

I didn't know who he was, as is often the case with people I SHOULD know. But everything I saw him in, he was great.

*noddles* He starred in a couple of less than stellar movies, too, but there were enough great ones to offset that.

One memorable scene (I think in Naked Gun) He was searching for something, opened a desk drawer and exclaimed "Bingo!". Then he pulled out a Bingo card.

I don't know, that scene just stuck in my head.

Yes, he will be greatly missed! -_-

Hehe, yeah. That's actually in that retrospective, too!

I really loved the entire scene in The Naked Gun 2 1/2 where he was searching the office. That was brilliant — it had me in stitches the entire time. Of course, so did much of the rest of the movie...

Hmm... I think it was, anyway. It was either 1 or 2 1/2, and I'm pretty sure it was 2 1/2.

Aww, yeah :/ This news has been travelling round today. I love the Naked Gun films.

I guess 84 is still a pretty good age though.

It is, yes... still, though, complications from pneumonia? That's no way for a man to die. A parachute not opening — that's a way to die. Getting caught in the gears of a combine, having your nuts bitten off by a Laplander... that's the way I wanna go.
