Need a haircut?

Need a haircut? Here's a rather neat virtual one; put on your headphones (it will NOT work without these!), close your eyes, lean back, and let Luigi do his magic.

On a side note, I really would like to get a (for lack of a better term) microphone headset that I can wear to record what exactly I'm hearing and provide Kunstkopf recordings of various (hopefully interesting) situations and events. (Although whether the term "Kunstkopf recording" would still be appropriate then is another question. *s*)

That virtual barber shop is TOO COOL!!! Before I clicked on it, I thought Luigi? Virtual Haircut?? Okay.... But after the first minute I was very impressed. The bag bit was freaky, and I loved the whisper/laugh towards the end, Otherwise it was very very cool. ;)

It really was, wasn't it? ^^ I didn't mind the bag, but suddenly having someone appear to be right next to your ear you didn't expect to be there is enough to give you an adrenaline boost, yes. :)

Funny, just yesterday I was watching a Youtube vid from DefCon 18 on weaponising Lady GaGa - all about psychosonics... and the speaker mentioned this specific video.... that, and something about iDose digital drugs.

Mmm, yeah. It's quite the mindfuck already, and I'd be surprised if the US army wasn't using the same techniques demonstrated here in much more unsavory ways to extract confessions and the like.

Ah well.

That said, it is an interesting video, isn't it? (And "digital drugs"? o.o)

Already are, according to the DC18 video. The more believable technology is a motorbike that drives behind sand-dunes at night, and plays hi-fi audio of a tank driving around.

The "maybe, maybe-not" stuff include a speaker which can transmit sounds in ultrasonics that, when resonating in bone, have a harmonic effect at lower (audible) frequencies, making you "hear voices in your head".

Mmm. Color me skeptical as far as the latter claim is concerned, at least until I'll see evidence for it. :)

Wow... that was rather amazing, and slightly freaky. Might have been better at night, when there's much less noise around, but still... it was quite realistic.

*s* I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, it was a bit freaky near the end, but I think they tried to make sure people wouldn't be uncomfortable, and it really was fun, too. ^^
