Spring is here...

Spring is here, ah-suh-puh-ring is here!
Life is skittles, and life is beer!
I think the loveliest time of the year
Is the spring!
I do.
Don't you?
'course you do!

Happy spring season, everyone. :) (At least for those living in temperate climates where seasons such as "spring" make sense in the first place, and on the northern hemisphere where the transition is from winter to spring now rather than from summer to autumn.)

Thanks and same to you :o) It was a lovely day here, sunny and cool but cheerfully bright and warm by an inside window. Lots of robins and the crocus have started to bloom from beneath their poorly tended beds.

Hope you got out to ride and enjoy your day!

Thanks. :) It was sunny enough here yesterday, at least for a few hours, which was nice; today, it's overcast, but it's also dry, and temperatures are high enough, so I'm not complaining. Quite a few crocus already, too, at least in the areas where they tend to bloom. :)

Yes.. at long last Vernal Equinox has arrived. For some reason it felt like a really...really long winter.

Mmm, it didn't to me, actually... but I'm still glad it's spring now. I like winter when it's cold and when there's lots of snow (and sun, ideally), but if temperatures are hovering a few degrees above zero, with no snow but lots of clouds and rain, well... that just sucks.

There wasn't much snow but I certainly enjoyed it when it was here. Its so pretty, and it turns the world into such a quiet serene environment. Mostly.. it was grey soggy and wet. But yes, spring! *wags his tail* already seeing signs of it, budding trees and blossoms already. ^^

Yeah, grey, soggy, wet snow sucks. I really prefer the white, fluffy variety, untrodden and pristine; it's a lot of fun to walk through that.

Lovely isn't it ^^ much more pleasant waking up to a bright, warm sunny day. Great for driving too, if I hadn't left my sunglasses in the kitchen this morning x.x

Mmm, it's nice, yes. :) At least when it IS warm and sunny; today, it's already overcast here again, but as long as there's no rain, I'm not gonna complain too much.

Aww, pity about your sunglasses. I should probably dig out mine for biking again, too. :)

Spring has sprung!
The grass is rise'd!
I wonder where the birdy is?
Some say the bird is on the wing,
But that's absurd, the wing is on the bird!

I got it from my father, who apparently got it from his father. Other than that, I don't know.

He might have read or heard it somewhere, or my grandfather may have made it up, he was always getting in trouble with my grandmother for his "alternate" nursery rhymes :P

It usualy ran something like:

"Mary had a little lamb,
It's feet were black as ink,
and everywhere that Mary went,
It wee-wee'd in the sink!"

"Will! Stop that!"

*giggles* Sounds like a great grandfather. ^.^ I wish I'd had one like that. (I should probably add here that neither of my grandfathers was anything but a nice guy, from what I know — but one died before I was even born, and one shortly after, so I didn't get to know either.)
