From the words-that-don't-exist-but-should department:

a·perk /əˈpɜː(r)k/ adj 1. perky 2. perked up. "She's so cute with her ears all aperk like that."

Messrs. Merriam and Webster don't have it, but I think it'd make a cromulent addition to the English language.

So do I. ^^ I'm a fan of a- constructs of that sort in general; aquiver, aflutter, atwitter, akimbo and so on, also aghast and more.
