365 days of SL, day 4

Having a home in a space station that's prone to frequent restructuring means that sometimes, you'll wake up to things having randomly changed. Last night, for instance, I found that the windows on the stateroom level at Black Gazza had been redone — there's a toroidal layer in addition to the cylindrical layer now:

If the screenshot makes it look a bit weird, this is due to issues with transparency in SL, BTW; several layers of (semi)transparent textures often seem to create weird effects. I don't know why they don't fix this, but it's usually not noticeable, as builders know about it and take care to not trigger it.

As for the windows themselves, they don't look bad, but it'll take some getting used to. From what I've heard, the cylindrical layer may well be removed, leaving only the toroidal one; if it is, I hope the stateroom walls will be extended with (half-)discs to keep the units separated, too.

Location: Black Gazza (my stateroom)
