365 days of SL, day 20:

It's amazing how different familiar scenes can appear when you change the environment/your settings. Lordshore Bridge is usually a very relaxing part of Route 9, situated in a sunny, warm environment, a pleasure to walk across slowly, enjoying the cool breeze while looking out at the sea; but enabling Light/Shadows at midnight reveals bright, cold lights illuminating a midnight blue scene, an empty bridge carrying an industrial highway across a cold sea and into a barren landscape.
I really like this picture: it almost has that "gates to techno-hell" feeling to it. Abandon hope, ye who enter here.

This is what I was initially wanted to use for today's shot and what alerted me to the fact that Lordshore Bridge had those lights in the first place. It's based on this shot (larger) that I took on Friday night but ended up not using; it took ages to recreate, thanks to two crashes, SL's annoying tendency to reset your camera, and my having to wait for the buoy's light to actually blink (and then not missing it for the screenshot). Funny how the shot I ended up using only took a minute or two, then.
One more bonus picture!

After I took the top screenshot and gave the present company a sneak preview, moth_wingthane commented how it was another example of me having that "artistic eye" (thanks ^^), and how most people would have taken that shot straight down the centerline. I immediately thought that this would make for an interesting picture as well, so I took a few more screenshots to show what I had in mind. :) And I think this one turned out quite interesting as well, if I say so myself. ^^
