365 days of SL, day 23:

One of the daily rituals on SL is that I'm usually locked up or restrained in some way before logging off. (It used to be "always" rather than "usually", but since I got my stateroom at BG, I'm sometimes sleeping there, too.) In the beginning, it used to be in my cell; then at some point a few years ago, I came across a toy called a "padded maiden" and got one for myself, so now it's that, too.
It's pretty much like an iron maiden, actually, but instead of having spikes on the inside, it's lined with thick cushions to make it more realistic. The outside is smooth metal, sort of like an upright, abstract Egyptian sarcophagus.
It uses RLV, too — if you're using RLV, you can't leave it if one of the doors is closed, and if all five are shut, you're further restricted. I'm loving it, and I've said ever since I first saw it that I'd just love to have something like it in real life, too.
Anyhow, in the above screenshot, I'm just about to be locked up. (Yeah, the thing isn't quite the perfect size for me, but it's working well enough.) It also shows some visual imperfections on my uniform; as easy as it is in principle to build on SL, the tools it gives you are very basic, and creating high-quality texures that bake well is an art in itself. But I figure it does make sense that my prison uniform would be a bit threadbare, doesn't it?
Also, a technical note — in the above screenshot, the texture on the maiden's padding hasn't fully loaded yet. I have another screenshot where it has, but I blinked there when the shot was taken. :P
