365 days of SL, day 28:

(Click for larger — 1920x1033 PNG, 1450 KiB)

Yesterday was another quiet day, and we decided to visit an airfield, something that I often find very relaxing. However, it didn't quite go as planned when we met the owner (?) of the estate, who stuck around and talked to us for quite a while; as a result, we didn't actually get to see most of it. Ah well, there'll be more time to do that soon.

The above screenshot also illustrates one problem that furries are more likely to encounter in Second Life — prim avatar attachments and non-prim clothing tend to not mix well, for obvious reasons. You can see if with the fishnet stockings she's wearing, for instance: they work just fine on the upper part of her leg, but the digitigrade prim leg attachments cover them up entirely. Unless you like to retexture things (which might not even be possible), there's no way around this, either.

Well, no way short of not wearing things like digitigrade legs, handpaws and the like. But then you'll likely want to wear something else that hides the fact, e.g. boots, gloves or something similar. Not that I mind – I like all of those things –, but it's one of the little problems of SL. For this reason and others, we're still a long, long way away from satisfactory clothing in SL, in my opinion.

All the more reason to go around naked.

Nice tiger, BTW.

Yeah, it's a nice avatar — I didn't ask her which one, though.

Heh, and quite a few people do that, actually! :)

I'm waiting for the day SL comes out with the ability to have a true quadruped animal avatar. You would think with the furry presence they would consider it, but maybe its too much work for too little $$ for Linden Labs.

I wish I had more time to spend on SL. In many ways I miss it, though I'm also reminded of that failed relationship i had last year...

*nods* You could probably do it. There are avatars that completely get rid of your regular avatar and replace it by something else; presumably, you could do the same for a non-anthro avatar, and if you then also took over the controls with a script to get a realistic walking motion and all that, you'd be pretty much set.

In fact, I'm pretty sure this is what non-anthro avatars do.

But yeah, you should come on SL again some time. :)
