365 days of SL, day 111:

Yesterday saw a trip to another place with planes. I was quite amused by the various floating cubes proclaiming things like "NEW!" or "UPGRADED!" (or even just "INFO!"); a little cluttered, and perhaps not the best design, but the planes seemed nice.

US flags seem pretty obligatory for places like these, too; you'll often see them there, and fawning over soldiers and the military in general is also not uncommon. This is pretty much the only display of politics I've encountered in SL, really — otherwise, politics, like religion, is not represented, as your outlook on either is your own private business, and forcing it on everyone else would just lead to strife.

Speaking of religion, there was also a church on the next parcel — christians again being the only ones I've ever seen breaking this unspoken gentlemen's agreement to not flaunt one's religion on SL. It's funny how it's always a certain group that does this (politically and religiously conservative christians), but then it's hardly specific to SL.
