365 days of SL, day 160:

I was extremely tired for most of the evening last night — had a hard time keeping myself from falling asleep until I popped in some caffeinated chocolate, in fact (it was a bit better after that), and as a result, I didn't do much on SL even though I would've had the opportunity to explore.

I did poke around a bit in the Snowlands again, though, and I was amused to find another of those giant crystals — the same kind already seen on Heterocera on day 147 and Jeogeot on day 44. I still don't know if there's any significance to these, but they look nice.

I also found that this particular specimen at least glows in the dark:

Which is rather neat in itself.

Outside of that, the Snowlands, much as I like the idea of a snow-covered area, still aren't looking that great; I had to derender quite some ugly wood-textured clutter here already, and missed some (visible in the first screenshot above the trees on the left) that I couldn't derender because it was in the next sim.

The clutter, BTW, was found on a parcel right next to the road that was nevertheless walled off by means of a security system: upon entering, you got a message telling you to leave, and then were ejected and banned (!) pretty much immediately afterwards before you could even react. Why people don't just disallow access to their parcel I don't understand — or, for that matter, why people who want that much privacy get a parcel on the mainland RIGHT NEXT to a Linden road in the first place.

But together with the clutter that that person left lying around, it gives you a pretty good first impression — which is to say one that isn't actually very good.
