Another day, another beach... the one we went to last night had a decidedly post-apocalyptic feel to it, though, not so much due to the architecture and design but due to the stark lighting and the orange plasma clouds rushing across the sky at a high speed. While there was no visible deterioration, the place felt like it had been preserved after some kind of unspecified disaster, maybe a (fictionalized) neutron bomb that killed everyone and dramatically changed the environment, but left the infrastructure intact.
Not inappropriate for Nightmare Night / Halloween, I suppose. (And for all I know, the effect may only have been implemented temporarily for that.)
And even though it probably looks like I'm mistaking the Heimlich manoeuver for the Vulcan death grip here, I'm actually just giving my friend a shoulder massage — one of the built-in animations of the spot we're occupying.
