I visited Satori (the "Japanese continent") again last night — specifically, the southernmost tip, a Homestead sim called Pounce. (A rather amusing name; other sims in the same area had names like Furball, Scratchy, but also Tigerclaw, Greystripe, Fireheart (all of which would be good chakat names), not to mention Bastet, Bagheera, Crookshanks and so on.
Alas, the visit was rather short, because in Scratchy, about the first parcel I visited immediately threw me out. Now I should say that I don't really mind parcels with an access whitelist; but land security devices are obnoxious, and parcels that are wide open, especially on the mainland, should not employ them.
This one was even worse than most insofar as that it didn't even give you a warning: upon entering the parcel, you were immediately teleported out, with no delay. Given that there were also no signs or anything, or any indication whatsoever that visitors weren't welcome, I thought this gratuitious.
Most of SL is open and welcoming, but not all of it is. I knew that, but I could've gone without the reminder.
