365 days of SL, day 240:

It's been a while since I've been to Levane Estate, and it appears that it's undergoing some radical changes. Except for vegetation, the sim is mostly empty now; a few bits and pieces remain, like the peacocks seen above, the raft seen on day 167, a few flamingos and a bridge, but pretty much everything else is gone:

If you want to see what it used to look like, day 106 has a fairly extensive overview with several pictures. Various bits were also featured at other times — the bar on day 150, and the pool on day 151.
The first screenshot from up above was taken at the same location as the one from day 210, BTW, and comparing the two is quite instructive.
But even though the sim's pretty empty right now, I'm confident that it'll eventually come back to life, as it were. The fact that the sim itself is still there means that it's unlikely that its current state is due to fiscal problems, unlike with e.g. Alikat's (see day 108 for more there); and given that the vegetation is still there and that the place hasn't been terraformed, I'd expect it'll stay a tropical lagoon as well. And that's the way I prefer it, since that's what made it nice and what it was good at. :)
Speaking of terraforming, BTW, the place HAS changed already: while the above screenshots are from yesterday, I first visited two days ago (but used a different screenshot on that day since I knew I'd come back to Palmana anyway), and e.g. the terrain texture has already been adjusted a little bit. Two days ago, in the spot with the peacocks, it was sand; yesterday, as you can see, it was grass, and similar changes have happened in other places.
I think that shows that the sim's actively being developed, so it's a good thing. I miss the old Levane Estate, but I'm also looking forward to seeing what the new one will be like.
