We wanted to check out a featured christmas event last night, but couldn't find any, so we settled for a North Pole-ish place with an overall winter/christmas theme. I think the idea was that you'd take the sled, but we walked instead.

The sled had a semi-realistic horse — interesting. I wonder how they got those horse textures.

I rather liked the snow-covered trees. I've always had a thing for those; they make everything so nice and serene. Same reason why I liked the Ice Age expansion for Magic: The Gathering, too; that one just came out when I started playing Magic, and probably played a large role in getting me hooked. (And to this day, I still adore the concept of snow-covered basic lands in that one.)

Food! Err, I mean, reindeer! :)
I had to turn off lighting/shadows at this point since my framerate was dipping too low, and I didn't have the time to turn it on and off every time I wanted to take a screenshot.

There was an area with penguins and polar bears — including one in a rather innuendo-ladden position; he was crouching down peering into an igloo, but it looked like something rather different.
It also had this doll. Boing Ball tights!

Oooh, giant candy canes! As you can see, I turned on shadows again for this one; it really makes a difference, but my GPU's too old and slow to have it on all the time.

Cupcakes, cupcakes cupcakes cupcakes, cupcakes cupcakes cupcakes! ^^ I love cupcakes, as evidenced by this ancient screenshot, taken at the old Mushporium (see day 34 for more on that):

Alas, the ones at this new location didn't have any "gorging yourself" animation built into them. :)
There was also a stage near by, with a pair of giant nutcrackers and some dancers on stage (dadada-da-dadada-dadada-dadada-dadada-d
All in all, I didn't have nearly enough time to explore this sim as I would've liked to, certainly not as much as it would've deserved; and I'm not sure I experienced it the way it was intended, but I had fun nonetheless. That's what counts, right?
