365 days of SL, day 268:

Jaguar Valley has been decorated for the season as well, and I rather like how it turned out: not just because there's snow, but also because of the atmosphere of calm and peaceful quiet. Looking at the above screenshot, you can almost feel the crisp, cool air that fills your lungs and listen to the audible silence that the blanket of snow creates; perhaps you could sit on a bench there somewhere for a while, alone and away from all the hustle and bustle, contemplating everything while the land around you sleeps.
Of course it's just a screenshot of a virtual world, but still.
What I actually wanted to show was a different effect, BTW; I'd spotted a light installation of sorts a while back, but when I came back to the spot today, it was gone. I did take a quic screenshot back then, though, so this is what it looked like:

Those spires of light were animated, BTW, slowly falling and rising and changing colors in a mesmerizing cascade. It was an effect that pictures couldn't really do justice; all the more of a shame that it's apparently gone again now. Ah well, life goes on; there's no use in dwelling on the past or imagining what might have been.
