I noticed that a number of sims in part of Corsica (one of SL's mainland continents, as I'm sure y'all recall) bore Icelandic names recently — Hengill, Kerlingafjoll (Kerlingafjöll), Reykjanes, Eldfell, Surtsey, Jolnir (Jólnir), Grimsvotn (Grímsvötn), Kolbeinsey, Askja and Katla, all named after Icelandic volcanoes, islands and (in the case of Reykjanes) peninsulas.
So naturally, I had to investigate. We found ourselves in Hengill last night; parts of it were rather bare, abandoned even, but others were inhabitated, and I got some OK screenshots. The above is a view towards the west (and the south, slightly), showing some flowers, palm trees and boats. (Thank you, Dame Captain Obvious!)

More or less randomly, here's a screenshot of a nice and rather cozy-looking hammock near those aforementioned flowers. Very comfortable! :) And also, a rather nice-looking house on top of the hill to the east, caught here in the blue hours of the early morning.
But for the most part, I didn't explore: I just stayed at the beach and didn't venture anywhere, and eventually we sat down at the inevitable campfire. Someone may or may not have pulled out a ukulele and played gentle songs until we went to bed, too. :)
