365 days of SL, day 353:

The original plan for last night was to check out KMN48, a sim with a rather funny map tile, last night. Unfortunately, it was closed to public access, so we had to find somewhere else to go; fortunately, there was another sim on the map quite close to it that looked quite interesting, Mont Saint Michel.

And it was very interesting indeed: a recreation of the island of Mont Saint-Michel, and a great one at that. I've never been to the real place, but I can tell a lot of work went into this one on SL, and every effort was made to make it look good.

We walked around and explored for a bit until I had to call it a night, and I'll just let the rest of the pictures speak for themselves:

It's remarkable how close it is here to how it looks in RL.

It is, isn't it? There have to be some differences; the real Mont Saint-Michel is apparently close to one square kilometer in size (the equivalent of 16 SL sims), but looking at this build from the outside you wouldn't be able to tell that.

Pity I never visited the real one; it would be fun to compare.
