The first volume (5.66 MB PDF) of the 2013 State of the Herd report is out. Get it while it's fresh!

I understand there'll be more material later on that drills deeper into the data, too.

EDIT: CoderBrony updated the report with a new page on asexuality vs. age (page 38), so if you've already downloaded the 57-page version of the report, grab the 58-page version now.

hmm 17.5% identify as a furry... curious to know how that question set to get that answer was worded as I am thinking the #s are a bit higher which wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility since statistics are more a generalization than factual.

Had the questionaire asked it bluntly do you identify as a furry some "Bronies" may have eschewed that answer thinking "identify" means to have a spiritual connection rather than had the question been more concise like ... Are you also active in the furry fandom... Stats can be skewed so easily simply by the words the author chooses.

Wording is certainly crucial, but I find it very hard to believe that "do you identify as furry" would make anyone think of spiritual connections. "identify" is a standard term, isn't it? That said, I don't recall what wording was used, and the survey is closed, so I can't check.

With any luck, the author will include the survey questions used as an appendix. (And if he doesn't, it might be worth asking him about it.)
