We went back to Miami Airport a few days ago again to see it before it was scheduled to (maybe) be closed on the 12th; I'd not seen everything the first time, and I wanted to remedy that while I still had the chance. So here's some screenshots.

As you can see, the airport's just as photogenic as one of my friends who accompanied me, a skunk who acquired the moniker "Big Sexy". :) These may be borderline NSFW shots, particularly the first one, but they're quite a bit tamer than what you'll see on, say, calendars that are openly displayed and sold in bookstores here, so I think they'll be fine.

The first one just shows the expanse of the upper level of the terminal, BTW; the second one was taken at the Emirates lounge. Very nice, that one; I think it was only intended for first-class passengers, though. Makes you wish you could afford that (or charm your way into it — which is probably easier if you're a scantily-clad skunk).

Here's two views of the check-in counter area, taken from far above. You can clearly see the airport's different levels here.

We passed by various offices, shops etc.; this one belonged to SLZIN Resorts, which seems to be a Japanese company. (If you can read Japanese, use your favorite search engine to locate their homepage.)

The panda, meanwhile, was walking around, interacting with people and otherwise being silly; I suspect he is (or was) the airport's mascot. Certainly an unusual sight at an airport, but cute nonetheless.

Have another random shot from a nice-looking office/lounge/shop ("Sunny Air", judging by the sign outside), as well as a shot looking back across the airport's entire uppermost level.

After exploring the upper level, we went the opposite direction, walking down this ramp into the bowels of the airport. The area was less polished/finished; there were a couple of hangars, though. (And the doors had the same combination as my luggage!)

There was also an elevator that took you all the way to the tower, so that's where we ended up next.

Wow, that's the second-biggest radar screen I've ever seen.

I'm not sure what the technical term for the smaller one in the second shot is; maybe someone can fill me in. You can also see the neighboring sims through the window there, notably Avignon, which we visited on day 347.

And finally, two random shots: one night shot from the tower (I liked the illumination, although the shot is overall a bit too dark), with my skunk friend posing as well, and one of a plane we saw down in the hangars, a Beechcraft King Air C90GTX Test Plane X. I don't think we've encountered that kind on SL before.

And that's all from Miami — literally, in fact, as I just logged on to check and found that it is indeed gone, with the sim being mostly empty now save for an aircraft carrier that already moved in to fill the void.

Good bye, Miami; I never knew you, but it was nice to see you while you still existed.
