More Unusual Definitions, courtesy of yours truly:

demonstrate, v.

of a werewolf: to shapeshift into human form. (contrast remonstrate.)

disgavel, v.

of a judge: to remove from office; to defrock.

palimpsest, adj. /pæˈlɪmpsɛst/

most resembling an elephant.

Have seen the word "palimpsest" more in the last 2 years i think than in the 44 before them. (Also: title of a novella by Charles Stross; at a plot point of one of Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next novels...)
